Information for Applicants
In 2007, we began our transition from a PGY2-4 to a PGY 1-4 Program. For the 2009-1010 interview season, the Cook County EM Residency will offer 16 Categorical (PGY-1) positions to start in July of 2010. We will not offer an Advanced PGY-2 track this year.
We will complete the transition to a class of 15 residents per year in 2010. Currently the application process and program are essentially unchanged except that now the Department of Emergency Medicine sponsors its own emergency medicine focused internship (PGY-1) year.
Candidates must be either a fourth year medical student in an accredited USA Medical School or a graduate of an international medical with one year in an accredited Post Graduate program. Please contact Ms. Ethel Lee at elee@ccbh.org for details.
The Cook County Emergency Medicine Residency Program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service. No other applications are accepted. Fourth year U.S. medical students should contact their medical school’s Dean’s Office for more information. If you are not a fourth year U.S. medical student, then contact the organizations below for more information.
